Several local libraries in the Mid York Library System opened for curbside pickup on Monday, June 15.
Anyone looking to check out library items can place them on hold using the online catalog at midyork.org. When the requested order is ready for pickup, a notification will be sent.
Pickup times and dates vary by location, but instructions are available on each library’s website.
At this time, libraries can only lend the items at their location.
Utica Public Library had a few orders placed Monday afternoon.
"We've actually had 15 responses so far just from last Friday to today and I'm anticipating a lot more responses to come. And they are really excited about this idea, and just a chance to come interact with the staff again here even if it's just a short amount of time. You can do the hand off or talking to them on the phone it's a chance for them to interact with the library again and get involved in our community," said Chris McNicholl, who works at the Utica Public Library.
