Monday's temperatures are much warmer than normal. And with all of this sunshine and warm weather, some local restaurants have opened outdoor dining early.

Debbie's Cafe in New Hartford just put their tables outside Sunday to attract more customers. The owner, Debbie Dougherty said, "In this area we only get like three months of outside seating and people like to take advantage of that. Which I found out through last year that people were like more wanting to be outside and not be inside."

The sunshine and warm weather today encouraged many people to go outdoor dining.

"I was really excited to see the tables out, because we had just been here Friday and they weren't out and I said oh pretty soon you'll be getting the tables out," said Dougherty. "When I came today and saw them I was really excited. I said we got to eat outside."

And Debbie's Cafe learned from last summer during the pandemic that outdoor seating is great for business.

Dougherty said, "We would probably get like maybe 30% more people coming out now. If they know there's outside seating. And more people have gotten their shot so it's bringing more business in now. So the last couple weeks, the business has boosted up quite a bit."

Chesterfield's Tavolo in Utica says they really appreciate the communities help. The owner, Salvatore Borruso said, "All the local people are great. They know what we're going through and they've been very supportive. And we're thankful for that."

And they are looking forward to the warmer weather for outdoor seating. Borruso said, "We started with only to go, so it slowly improved for us. And like I say summer is right around the corner and the outdoor dining will kick up. And you know we should be okay."
