NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- The Theater at Woodshill will release its first-ever, fully-orchestrated and sound-scaped audioplay of Shakespeare's festive comedy "Twelfth Night, or What You Will" on January 22nd at 6 p.m.
The Theater at Woodshill's mission is to entertain, educate, and foster economic growth by building world-class home for the works of William Shakespeare -- right in the heart of Central New York.
And they do this for free. Every year, rain or shine since their founding season in 2016.
However, along with all local theater groups, in-person performances were shelved due to the pandemic. So Woodshill got creative.
"It was an opportunity for us to enhance our own technical capabilities as a company a chance to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone." says Artistic Director Allen Guy Wilcox. "Let's do something different, let's use the same set of skills and make a piece of art that we can be proud of."
On January 22nd the production will be available for download or streaming here. You can also go to Anchor, iTunes, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Wilcox says the group is here to entertain. He hopes that people can encounter Shakespeare and say "I get this, this is hilarious".
