UTICA, N.Y. – Mohawk Valley Community College donated ventilators and personal protective equipment to Mohawk Valley Health System Tuesday to help combat the coronavirus outbreak.
MVCC delivered equipment from its School of Health Sciences, including four ventilators, 550 disposable gowns, 400 isolation face masks and thousands of pairs of sterile and non-sterile gloves.
“The saying, ‘It takes a village,’ is reinforced by the wonderful outpouring of support MVHS has received from this community,” said Darlene Stromstad, MVHS president and CEO. “We are so grateful to MVCC, a longtime friend and partner, for its generosity and support. When we all get through this — and we will get through it — it will be because of the support from organizations like MVCC.”
MVHS is preparing for a surge in coronavirus patients as the cases in Oneida County, and across the state, continue to rise.
