NEW HARTFORD, NY – Mohawk Valley Health System received a sizable financial boost from the Bank of America Monday.
The bank presented a $250,000 check to the MVHS Foundation in support of the new MVHS Regional Medical Center that is scheduled to be built in downtown Utica.
MVHS president and CEO Darlene Stromstad hopes the donation will be the first of many from local companies to the new hospital.
“When you’re building a new medical center there are certain expenses that you have, but there are other things that are beyond that. What the Bank of America is giving us is a gift that we can turn around and invest in the healthcare of the people that live in this community.”
In addition to the money donated from the Bank of America, it was also announced that close to an additional $150,000 was raised at the 4th Annual MVHS-Bank of America-Merrill Lynch Golf Open for the hospital.
The golf tournament took place at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford.
