UTICA, N.Y. – Mohawk Valley Heath System has updated its visitation policy to allow two visitors at a time instead of just one.
Starting April 1, visiting hours at the hospitals will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with two people allowed at a time during each two-hour window.
People with developmental or intellectual disabilities, or who have cognitive impairments like dementia, may have one person designated to be with them throughout their hospital stay. Then they can also have one additional visitor during visiting hours.
In the Emergency Department, each patient can have two support people with them during the intake process who can also rejoin them after they’ve been treated.
Patients can also have one person accompany them to any medical appointments.
Maternity patients can have two labor support people during delivery.
