ONEIDA, N.Y. - Raelyn Gordon from Oneida celebrated her third birthday on Tuesday with a Disney themed parade.
Area firetrucks, police, friends, family, and members of the community drove by Raelyn's house to wish her a very special happy birthday.
Raelyn was born with a congenital heart defect. In her short three years, she has had five surgeries, including two open heart surgeries.
Her Make-A-Wish trip to Disney was postponed due to the coronavirus, so her family still wanted to celebrate her birthday by giving her something special.
"I'm just hoping it's something she'll remember for the rest of her life," Thomas Gordon, Raelyn's dad said.
She loves Disney, especially Disney princesses, so several people showed up dressed as Disney characters.
“This has been like the first year where she just really came into her own personality and loves princesses and everything and she just loves Disney," Gordon said. "She just gets excited, especially when things are new and exciting and especially Disney."
Gordon says Make-A-Wish still plans on sending her to Disney, it will just have to be next year.
"Always enjoy every moment you have and make everyday special, she definitely reminds us of that every day," Gordon said.
