Dunkin’ and Make-A-Wish are teaming up again this year for the star donut campaign to help make wishes come true.
Through June 28, Mohawk Valley customers who donate $1 to Make-A-Wish will receive a star-shaped donut with blue and white icing.
The campaign has raised nearly $450,000 since 2013.
“Dunkin’ is pleased to continue its support for Make-A-Wish Central New York, a charity that works day-in and day-out to help make the wishes of local children come true,” said Eric Stensland, field marketing manager for Dunkin’. “I encourage the residents of the Mohawk Valley to enjoy a special treat while supporting an organization that is so important to the children and families in our community.”
On Monday, June 22, 10-year-old Nina Parish helped kick off the campaign at the Dunkin’ in North Utica.
Nina’s mother says campaigns like this helped her daughter, who has cancer, fulfill her dream of going to Disney World and meeting the princesses.
“She got her wish granted. It was the time of our lives, because it had been very difficult for 18 months of treatment and it was very stressful on the family. She was often sick after treatment. This make a wish opportunity was just so helpful in our journey,” she said.
All proceeds from the start donut campaign will benefit local Make-A-Wish chapters.
