WESTMORELAND, N.Y. – A Westmoreland man is accused of driving under the influence of drugs after a crashing his car into a rock wall Sunday.
Oneida County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the intersection of Deans Highway and West South Street in Westmoreland for a one-car accident around 11 a.m.
Deputies say 29-year-old Sewell A. Claycomb hit a rock wall before his car overturned. He and his passenger, 27-year-old Chelsea E. Heitzmann, of Whitestown, were both treated at the scene for minor injuries. Both declined to be taken to the hospital.
After failing a field sobriety test, Claycomb was arrested. Deputies also found him to be in possession of multiple controlled substances.
Claycomb was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, three other misdemeanors and four traffic tickets.
He is scheduled to appear in Westmoreland Town Court at a later date.
