UNADILLA, N.Y. – A New Jersey man is accused of stealing from a Unadilla gas station after the store's lottery machine did not dispense change.
New York State Police say 45-year-old Jeremy B. Barcoski, of Lincoln Park, New Jersey, was charged with petit larceny after allegedly stealing four packs of Twisted Tea from the Speedway on State Route 8 and driving off.
Troopers were able to locate Barcoski shortly after in the same vehicle from the scene.
According to state police, Barcoski said he used a lottery machine inside the gas station and didn’t get the $30 in change he expected, so he took items to make up for the loss. However, the alcohol he allegedly stole was worth more than $75.
Barcoski was released with an appearance ticket and is due back in court on Oct. 18.
