DEERFIELD, N.Y. – A registered sex offender from Deerfield was arrested on June 4 for allegedly making inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old who previously had an order of protection against him.
Anthony Getti, 25, is accused of contacting the teen, who lives in Virginia, through social media in May. He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
On May 21, the Child Advocacy Center was contacted by an officer from the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia, to let them know a registered sex offender living in Oneida County contacted the teen on May 16.
CAC investigators discovered that an order of protection was issued in 2016, after Getti was charged with unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child regarding an incident involving the same child. The order has since expired, but a new one was requested after this arrest.
The 2016 incident happened in Utica.
Getti was processed and held at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Thursday while he awaited arraignment.
