ROME – A man was arrested in Rome Monday for having inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old girl. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center to investigate the case that lead to the arrest.
Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Investigator C.J. Paravati arrested Joshua Jessop, 21, for endangering the welfare of a child.
Jessop was processed at the Rome Police Department and is being held pending an arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Court at the Oneida County Jail.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim and the victim has been offered counseling services through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
