INLET, N.Y. – A Brockport man living temporarily in Inlet is accused of forcing his way into a woman’s home Saturday and assaulting her.
Town of Webb police say Richard F. Hugelmaier, 37, allegedly broke into the home and refused to leave after the woman asked him several times. Hugelmaier is also accused of getting into a physical altercation with the woman, and pressing his arm against her chest and neck, impeding her breathing.
Hugelmaier was arrested around 5:45 p.m., and charged with first- and second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
Town of Webb Police Chief Ron Johnston says the victim and suspect know each other.
An order of protection was issued on the victim’s behalf.
Hugelmaier was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court at a later date.
