BOONVILLE, N.Y. - One man is dead and another is under arrest after a family argument turned deadly early Saturday morning.
New York State Police said the suspect, 30-year-old Brennan J. Iseneker, of Sauquoit, was located inside the residence and was taken into custody.
The crime scene on Summit Street in Boonville on Sept. 7, 2019.
State Police say Iseneker was charged with one count of murder in the second degree, and two counts of second-degree assault.
Iseneker was arraigned Saturday evening in Oneida County centralized arraignment court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail without bail.
State Police say shortly before 4 a.m. troopers were called to 208 Summit St. in Boonville for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. When troopers arrived, they found 31-year-old Cy Platt suffering from multiple stab wounds to his head and neck. He was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he later died.
Police say Iseneker stabbed his 62-year-old father in the neck when his father tried to intervene as Iseneker was wielding a knife toward others. That’s when Cy Platt and another 31-year-old man became involved. Platt was stabbed and killed; Iseneker's father and the other 31-year-old, whom police are not yet naming, were also stabbed and taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Both were treated for injuries and released.
Troopers obtained a search warrant and are continuing to collect evidence at the home.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the investigation while state police continue to investigate another incident involving the Platt family, who are facing tragedy for the second time in the past two weeks.
Kyle Platt, 26, was killed in an accident in the Town of Florence on Aug. 31, 2019, while riding with his cousin, Jared Platt, who veered off the road and hit a tree. Kyle was pronounced dead at the scene and Jared was air-lifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment.
According to Trooper Jack Keller, Cy Platt was related to Kyle and Jared.
