UTICA, N.Y. - One man was killed Thursday evening when he drove his vehicle into a South Utica house.
It happened on Dunham Road, near Higby Road just before 7:00 p.m.
An elderly driver drove off the road, up a driveway, and into an attached garage to a house. You could see damage to the garage doors, as emergency personnel and police officers investigated the scene Thursday evening.
Utica Police said the man likely suffered a heart attack. They said no one else was hurt.
"Upon arriving, the units located a deceased male, and at this time everything appears natural, obviously we're still investigating the scene,” Sgt. Michael Curley said. “The car did strike the residence and the male was extricated from the vehicle where he was pronounced dead."
Authorities have not released the name of the victim, as they are still notifying family. They said the medical examiner will determine his cause of death.
