SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. – New York State Police say a man died of an apparent drug overdose in the town of Vienna Tuesday morning – the same day four people were revived after overdosing at a home in Sylvan Beach.
The paramedics pronounced the 36-year-old man dead at 10:55 a.m. at a home on Lakeshore Drive.
Earlier Tuesday morning around 2:30 a.m., authorities were called to Sylvan Beach Trailer Park for four unresponsive adults who also appear to have overdosed. They were all treated with Narcan and are expected to survive.
State police say the investigation into the fatal overdose is ongoing.
It is unclear at this time what drugs were involved in these cases, or if they are connected.
Oneida County Opioid Task Force is looking into whether or not an overdose alert should be issued following these incidents.
