AVA, N.Y. – A man was sent to the hospital after crashing his snowmobile in Ava Sunday morning.
Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol says 33-year-old James Moroney, of Wallkill, N.Y., was heading down trail C4A when his snowmobile skis caught the edge of the trail, rolling on its side. Moroney was thrown from the snowmobile, hitting a tree.
He was taken to St. Elizabeth’s to be treated for head, shoulder and chest injuries.
Maciol says speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident, and no tickets were issued.
