New York Mills, N.Y. - The anticipation is building for people who have made going to the gym a ritual for years but had that ritual ripped out from underneath them in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The potential start of Phase 4 in the Mohawk Valley Region could begin as early as next Friday and many are hoping Governor Cuomo will include gyms and fitness centers in that phase, which he had mentioned as a possibility in Phase 4 when his four phase approach was announced.

Jen Venezio owns Body By Design in New York Mills and has taught her fitness classes virtually for 98 straight days and is really looking forward to when her clients can join her in her studio to do the classes in person. She is praying she will be allowed to open next Friday as part of Phase 4, "I am cautiously optimistic that we will be able to open on a limited basis. I’m crossing fingers and toes that by the end of the week we have some good info to share with everybody."

Utica resident Tyreek Waring says he is looking forward to returning to his gym, Body Alive along Oneida Square in Utica, "I cannot wait to get in there. It’s definitely going to be a relieving feeling when I get over there and get to work out see all my friends in there and definitely lose all this weight."

Venezio says her clients that are taking her classes virtually cannot wait to get back into the studio which sits behind the Fitness Mill in New York Mills, "It is palpable even talking about it. We’ve got a huge army of people that have been working out virtually for the last 14 weeks and just talking about it in our private Facebook group, everybody gets so excited."

No word on how soon this week Governor Cuomo may make an announcement regarding the potential beginning of Phase 4, which at the earliest could begin next Friday, June 26th, 14 days after Phase 3 began on Friday, June 12th.
