MARCY, N.Y. – In the spirit of giving, third-graders at Marcy Elementary School made and delivered comfort pillows to Hospice and Palliative Care patients.
As part of the project, students learn about the services provided by Hospice, and how their gifts may impact the those receiving end-of-life care.
"To come in with all this joy and happiness to know that theyre' doing something for another human being. I call it the invisible string of love we're going to read that book and I’m going to give them a heart but they're touching other people besides us, people they don’t even know," said Judy Tastor, children services coordinator.
Marcy Elementary School has had students stuff, sew and distribute pillows as part of this program for nearly 15 years.
