ROME, N.Y. – A Rome mother of three is presumed dead, and her husband is being questioned in connection with her death.

Rome police are looking for the body of Kerrilee D’Avolio, 32, of Belmont Street in Rome. At a press conference Monday evening, they asked the public to look at area dumpsters, where they believe her body may be located.

Police were at the home Monday morning, and still have the crime tape up around the home. Sometime before 11 a.m., authorities say that Jason D'Avolio brought their three children, ages 2, 4, and 5 years old, to an auto shop where his brother worked in Chadwicks. It is after that police say, his brother contacted police with the impression that a homicide occurred on Belmont Street, where they lived.

Officials say that the evidence they gathered at the home was suspicious, and indicative of a serious crime.

Although the two are still married, police say that they were in the initial stages of divorce.

Kerrilee D'Avolio hasn't been seen since Saturday night, and they believe the presumed homicide happened sometime after then.

No weapon has been recovered, and the suspect is cooperating to some extent.

The Chadwicks auto shop is on Oneida Street at the base of Grange Hill Road.

Police are asking area businesses, and property owners to check dumpsters in the city of Rome, as her body is believed to be located in one. Anyone with information on D’Avolio’s whereabouts should call Rome police at 315-339-7715.

Their three children are safe and staying with family.
