If you think this weather is normal, you're wrong! We're actually warmer than average for this time of year. It's hard to tell, because it's BEEN above average for quite some time. March ended up being one of the top ten warmest on record (#8 to be exact).
The warm finish to winter seals the deal on below average snowfall. We stand with 72" for the city of Utica for the season, to date. Yes, we can, and usually do see snowfall in the month of April, but the averages are in the low single digits. Even a record breaking storm isn't going to bring us back to average (96").
Moving forward, the weather stays mild for the rest of this week. Temperatures climb into the mid to upper 50s this weekend, with highs close to 60 early next week. There are signs of a pattern change for the middle of April, perhaps bringing us back to or below normal. We shall see!
