Missing man found dead in Oneonta

State Police say on Tuesday afternoon they found 53-year-old Steven Kassirer’s body in a ravine in heavy brush.

ONEONTA – An out of state man reported missing earlier this month has been found dead in Oneonta.

State Police say on Tuesday afternoon they found 53-year-old Steven Kassirer’s body in a ravine in heavy brush.

Troopers say they found Kassirer’s abandoned car earlier in the week in a parking lot on Oneida Street in Oneonta. He had been reported missing from Irondequoit on October 20 and didn’t show up for work on October 23. He is originally from Massachusetts.

State Police say they do not suspect any foul play, but the manner of death is still under investigation pending autopsy results. They do not know why Kassirer was in the Oneonta area.
