UTICA N.Y.- The Mohawk Valley Latino Association held a benefit for victims of the January 7th Puerto Rico Earthquake Saturday.
The event was held at Cornerstone Community Church in Utica.
The purpose of the event was to help the people in Puerto Rico who have been evacuated due to the Earthquake.
There were raffles, T-Shirts for sale, Live Music, and even a table to register to vote.
Sonia Martinez, The Executive Director of the Mohawk Valley Latino Association tells NEWSChannel 2 the organization is “trying to collect funds to send to Puerto Rico to help (the people) with buying water, food, (and) different needs.”.
Among those who attended the event was Utica Mayor Robert Palmeri.
Proceeds from the event will go towards helping the people effected by the Earthquake in Puerto Rico.
