VERONA N.Y.- State Police say a motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after a minivan vs. motorcycle accident Saturday in Verona.
Troopers say they were called to the intersection of Routes 46 and 31 in the Town of Verona just after 12:00 p.m. Saturday.
The investigation revealed a 2008 Dodge caravan, driven by 19-year-old Christopher S. Vanlieshout of Verona was travelling south on Route 46, when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection.
A 2014 Honda motorcycle travelling west on Route 31, and was unable to avoid hitting the minivan on the driver's side front fender.
The motorcyclist 56-year-old Mark Tompkins was ejected from the motorcycle, and landed in the roadway.
Tompkins was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with non-life threatening injuries.
Vanlieshout was not injured in the crash, but was ticketed for failure to stop for a red light.
