WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. - NASCAR released its 2021 Cup Series schedule, Wednesday, and it includes a return to New York State.
Watkins Glen International (WGI) will once again host the Go Bowling at The Glen race on August 8, 2021, which will be the 24th race on the Cup Series schedule.
"We are beyond excited and ready to welcome NASCAR back to Watkins Glen International and the beautiful Finger Lakes Region," WGI President Michael Printup said. "Our dedicated team has worked hard over the past few months in making sure the competitors, teams and fans can safely enjoy our world-class facility for the future. I know our fans can't wait for NASCAR to make its return to The Glen in what has become a summer tradition for over 30 years."
This year's race was postponed and subsequently moved to Daytona International Speedway in Florida due to travel restrictions in New York State during the coronavirus pandemic.
It marked the first time since 1984 that a NASCAR Cup Series event was not held at the road course.
