VERONA, N.Y. – A new Hampton Inn by Hilton is coming to Verona, and will be located at 5186 Route 365, just next to Turning Stone Resort and Casino.
There will be 109 guest rooms, a fitness center and indoor pool at the location, which is scheduled to open in the summer of 2020.
Benchmark Development, owner of the property, decided to build on the Verona lot to accommodate the increase in tourism from the casino.
“Turning Stone Resort Casino has created demand for more lodging in the area and the fact that there are more tourists visiting Upstate New York than ever before, we saw this as the perfect time to invest in Verona,” said Brian Cohan, principal of Benchmark Development.
Turning Stone also sees this as a sign of economic growth in the region.
“We see the new Hampton Inn as a strong complement to all that is offered at Turning Stone, and we are always thrilled to help generate and maintain additional economic activity in the area,” said Ray Halbritter, CEO of Oneida Nation Enterprises.
Meyer Jabara Hotels, a management company familiar with the New York hotel market and Hilton brands, has been chosen to manage the daily operations of the property once open.
“Because of the hotel’s modular construction – with sections of the hotel fabricated off site to brand specifications – it will be built in half the time. The look of the hotel will mirror that of the Turning Stone Casino, with the public space mirroring its lodge-like design,” said Justin Jabara, vice president of acquisitions and development for Meyer Jabara Hotels.
Cohan says construction on the new hotel is currently underway.
