UTICA N.Y.- The New Hartford Rotary Club is working with area restaurants to feed area families.
The Club is working with 20 restaurants from throughout the Mohawk Valley to feed families of 4-6 people. The meals were picked up from The Neighborhood Center on Elizabeth Street in Utica by Employees of the center.
Some notable restaurants the food came from include Symeon's, Aqua Vino, Babe's, Swifty's, Carmella's among others.
The club's treasurer and fundraising director for The Neighborhood Center says this is a great way to help support local restaurants and help those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We’re giving each of the restaurants $250, and those restaurants are making meals five family meals for 4-6 people each.” said Jeffrey Gornick, the New Hartford Rotary Club Treasurer. “We’re feeding 100 families, and supporting 20 restaurants in the area.” Gornick added.
The families receiving the food live in Utica, New Hartford, Rome, among other places in the Mohawk Valley.
The New Hartford Rotary Club would like to thank the Employees of The Neighborhood Center for all their hard work during this coronavirus crisis.
