NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – New Hartford Central School District officials received a report of a social media threat, finding it not to be credible after an investigation.
A tip was provided to the school about a conversation that allegedly took place on Snapchat, where a student at the senior high made reference to a threat of violence at the school.
School administration worked with law enforcement Tuesday to follow the district’s procedures to secure the campus and investigate. The New Hartford Police Department and school officials determined that the threat was not valid after the investigation.
The district encourages students, parents and community members to contact the school if they are made aware of potential school threats.
