Jimmy Kraeger scored twice for the Warriors, with Alex Nofri registering a goal and an assist.

With the victory, the Spartans have won 14 out of the 18 Sparrior Cups dating back to its inception in 2002. They have now won 46 straight Tri-Valley League contests.

"The [Sparrior Cup] really represented when we [and Whitesboro] started at an even level," said Spartans head coach, Dan Pope. "So for us to now win 14 out of 18 of these, I think it represents more of a program feel, what we do and how we do things, and what we're willing to do throughout the year to train and be better."

For the Spartans players, beating Whitesboro every time they have played them for the Sparrior Cup adds something extra to the success they have experienced overall.

"It's unreal, there's literally no description for this, just the team bonding," said senior defender, Liam Ronan. "Coach [Pope] brings out the trophy at our last practice and preaches the same thing, how it started with our programs being the same, and it's a great tradition."

"It's very exciting, we've been looking forward to this all season," said senior attack, Aadam Mirza. "This game means a lot to us, we always know it's going to be a little more chippy. All day we look forward to it, all season we look forward to this game."
