NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – The New Hartford town board will discuss flood damage in Chadwicks during its meeting Wednesday night.
Areas impacted the most include Route 8, Mallory Road, Oneida Street and Elm Street. An engineer was recently hired to assess the damaged areas and advise the town on how to handle repairs.
Officials say they are focusing on repairs and developing plans to mitigate future flooding issues, including the Sauquoit Creek flood basin.
FEMA has been in the area surveying damaged homes and roadways, and town officials are working with them to explore buyout opportunities.
The meeting will take place at the town office, 8635 Clinton St., at 6 p.m.
