ROME, N.Y. – The new corporate headquarters for the New York State Technology Enterprise Corp. has opened at Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome.
Company executives and local officials gathered to cut the ribbon at the building on Wednesday, located on the corner of Hangar Road and Otis Street.
“Our new headquarters building is further evidence that the Griffiss Business and Technology Park is center to the Mohawk Valley’s workforce expansion and high-tech ecosystem,” said NYSTEC president and CEO, Mike Walsh. “NYSTEC was born and raised in Rome. We are proud that our headquarters building can serve as a technology hub, a home for engaged regional community leaders, and a local office for innovative global companies like Booz Allen Hamilton.”
The 32,000 square-foot building will house NYSTEC and Booz Allen Hamilton, a management and information consulting firm in Rome.
NYSTEC is working with Griffiss Local Development Corporation to increase employment at Griffiss Park, and expects to double its workforce over the next three years.
Empire State Development provided a $1.1 million grant to GLDC to support this job-creating project. New York State also supported the project with Military Base Redevelopment Funds. Construction on the building cost more than $8.5 million in total.
