WAMPSVILLE- Madison County celebrated the newly renovated 110-year-old courthouse on Saturday.
To mark the completion of the $18 million. the Madison County Board of Supervisors hosted a day long celebration for the public.
There were vendors, live music, food and guided tours of the courthouse.
“We preserved the history, we hope it’s here for another 100 years. We’ve kept some of the doors the woodwork the clocks up here on the dome the stain glass it’s who we are it’s part of America," said John Becker, Madison County Chairman of Board Supervisors.
The courthouse was built in 1909 hasn't been renovated since.
It will reopen in June for business.
