FLY CREEK, N.Y. -- It's Big Squeeze Weekend at the Fly Creek Cider Mill, an annual event that kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Bassett Mobile Screening Coach will be on site Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. To make an appointment for a mammogram, call 1-888-345-0225.
Educators from the Cancer Services Program will also be available to talk about the importance of breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening as well as how uninsured and under-insured individuals can access these services at no cost to them.
On Saturday, all sales of cider will be donated to the Bassett Medical Center Patient Fund.
Bill Michaels joined Kristen Copeland for Newstalk on Thursday where he discussed a Cornell University study published in 2007 that identified compounds in apple peels called triterpenoids that either inhibit or kill cancer cells in laboratory cultures.
