DEERFIELD, N.Y. -- Layla Zeina and Deacon Peter Hobacia joined Kristen Copeland for a NewsTalk on the upcoming Taste of Lebanon event in Deerfield.
St. Louis Gonzaga invites you to their ninth annual Taste of Lebanon food and entertainment festival presented by Lewiston Properties. Enjoy authentic Lebanese cuisine and decadent Middle Eastern desserts.
The festival is Friday, August 2, 5-10pm; Saturday, August 3, 1-10pm; and Sunday, August 4, 11am-4pm.
The fundraiser will be held at Deerfield Fireman's Field, 5476 Trenton Road, Utica.
A wide selection of Lebanese favorites will be offered such as hummus, stuffed grape leaves, gyros, baklava, fried dough, Lebanese coffee, and a crowd favorite — gryo bowls.
Headlining the festival on Friday night at 7:30pm is Soul Injection. The band Classified will be playing live at 7:30pm on Saturday night.
On Sunday, Layla Zeina, of Zeina's Cafe will host a series of interactive food demonstrations. Participants will learn how to make grape leaves, kibbeh, and Arabic coffee.
There will also be a variety of local dance groups performing on Saturday.
The entertainment is free, and so is admission and parking.
There will be a raffle for $5,000, $1,500 and $1,000 cash, as well as a wide selection of specialty baskets. Proceeds from the festival will support church activities and renovations.
