Freshman pitcher Madison Clark pitched a complete-game four-hit shutout, striking out 14 as No. 16 Mt. Markham upset the top-seed West Canada Valley 3-0 in the Section III Class C first round, Wednesday.

Clark also went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in the win. Amber Bryce (2-for-3) and Emma Kocienda (1-for-3) added the other two runs.

Indians senior pitcher Jordyn Conte struck out 10 in the loss to finish her career with 700 total strikeouts.

Phelan Shannon (1-for-4) hit a two-run home run, while Abigail Edsall (1-for-3, 2 RBI) and Maddelyn Hoehn (3-for-4, RBI) added earned runs for the Oriskany Redskins who defeated Little Falls 7-0 in the Class C first round.

The top-seeded Oriskany baseball team advanced to the Section III Class C semifinals with a come-from-behind 8-4 win over South Lewis.

Trailing 4-0 in the fourth, the Redskins rallied with four runs to tie it. They then took the lead in the fifth and never looked back.

Keagan Kraeger (1-for-2) and John Longeretta (1-for-2) each drove in two runs, while Dylan LaSalle (no registered AB), Carl Graziadei (2-for-4) Brandon Reid (4-for-4) and Colton Davis (1-for 3) each tacked on an RBI.
