ALBANY, N.Y. – Starting Monday, casinos, movie theaters, bowling alleys, billiards halls, gyms and fitness centers will no longer have 11 p.m. curfews under state pandemic mandates.
The venues initially operated with limited hours as part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive orders.
While the curfews have been removed, the businesses must still follow capacity restrictions and other safety guidelines.
According to the state, gyms and fitness centers can hold up to 33% capacity, and bowling alleys can allow 50%. Movie theaters can hold up to 25% capacity, or a maximum of 50 people per screening.
Bars and restaurants will still close at 11 p.m., and catered events must still be over by midnight. Cuomo said those rules will be reevaluated later this month.
