Winter Storm Warnings are issued for most of the area from Monday late morning through late Tuesday. A strong low pressure system will bring heavy snow to the area over the next few days. We'll tell you when it will reach your location and how much snow is expected each day.
Right now, this low pressure system is to our south. It is producing light snow over the Southern Valleys. It will continue it's track east overnight into Monday. The snow will continue in the Southern Valleys throughout Monday. Here's how much snowfall is expected tonight into Monday:
Monday evening, this nor'easter will move northward along the east coast. This will push the snow into the Mohawk Valley and North Country by Monday night. This widespread snow will be heavy at times with snowfall rates up to 1" per hour. The snow continues to be widespread on Tuesday, but becomes lighter throughout the day as this nor'easter moves further north.
However, the chance for snow will continue overnight into Wednesday as a northwest wind produces light lake effect snow showers. Drive slow and take caution. Watch out for areas of low visibility and snow covered roads late Monday into Tuesday.
