FRANKFORT, N.Y. – Northern Safety & Industrial in Frankfort has furloughed 20 of its 550 employees due to the decline in manufacturing needs across the country during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Based on foreseeable trends as a safety and industrial supplier, NSI needed to react to the manufacturing companies throughout the U.S. In certain areas of our business we reduced jobs that did not have enough work,” said Tammy Marchese, human resources director. “Our outlook remains positive, and we will all overcome these unprecedented times.”
The company provides safety supplies like masks and gloves, as well as industrial products, like power tools and electrical equipment.
