KIRKLAND, N.Y. – A Utica woman who works at the Lutheran Home in Kirkland is accused of stealing jewelry from one of the elderly residents at the nursing home.
According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the theft was reported on Aug. 18.
Following an investigation, 22-year-old Mirella Perez-Rodriguez was arrested Friday, Sept. 10, and charged with third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies. The charge of grand larceny in the third degree means the stolen property is worth $3,000 or more.
She is being held at the Oneida County jail pending arraignment.
The Kirkland Police Department assisted the sheriff’s office with the investigation.
