NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – Students in the Bridges program at Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES will learn remotely on Monday, Oct. 26, as a precaution after an employee reported testing positive for COVID-19. The Bridges program facilities will also be closed until at least Monday.
The health department will continue working on contact tracing, and anyone who was exposed will be notified directly.
According to assistant superintendent, Christopher Hill, this is not related to a case of coronavirus that was reported earlier in the week, and the employee in question has not been at work since Oct. 16.
Hill says all other OHM BOCES programs, including Career and Technical Education, Middle Settlement Academy and P-TECH OHM remain open for in-person instruction.
Any students exhibiting symptoms should contact a doctor to be evaluated.
OHM BOCES is located on Middle Settlement Road in New Hartford.
