UTICA – Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas will be speaking at Mohawk Valley Community College tomorrow evening as part of the college’s Cultural Series.

The event will be at 7 p.m. in the Robert R. Jorgensen Athletic and Event Center at MVCC’s Utica campus. The event is free for MVCC students, $10 for MVCC employees and $15 for the general public.

Douglas was selected to be a member of the U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics team at the 2012 Summer Olympics at age 16. She then became the first African-American woman to win the Olympic Gold medal as the All-Around Individual Champion.

Douglas also became the first American gymnast to win Gold in both the All-Around Individual and Team competitions at the same Olympics. She won her third Gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the Team competition, and became the only All-Around Olympic Gold Medal Gymnast in U.S. history to return for a second Olympics.
