MARCY, N.Y. -- The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car accident in Marcy that sent one woman to the hospital. She was a passenger in the vehicle.
It happened just after 11pm Thursday on Trenton Road in Marcy.
Robert Diegnan, 24 of Utica, was driving north on Trenton Road when he hit a gravel, dirt patch on the side of the road. That pulled his car in a ditch. He came to a stop after his car struck a pole.
Diegnan had two passengers in his vehicle -- Lindsey Meus, 30 of Rome, and a five-year-old girl.
Meus was rushed to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for neck, head, and leg injuries. Her side of the car struck the pole. The five-year-old was not hurt.
Diegnan was issued a ticket for moving unsafely from a lane.
