WEBB, N.Y. – Two snowmobile accidents, one fatal, took place near the Stillwater Reservoir on Thursday.
A Binghamton man died after crashing while riding on the reservoir.
The Mercy Flight Medevac helicopter directed town of Webb police to the scene of the incident around 8:30 p.m.
Police say 55-year-old Jon VanDeusen struck a large ice heave, and went airborne before crashing on the lake.
CPR attempts were made by fellow snowmobilers, but were unsuccessful.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
The other incident involved a man from Virginia, who was seriously injured after flying over the handlebars when he lost control of his snowmobile.
Town of Webb police say Christopher Anderson, 48, complained of no feeling or movement in his legs after the accident.
Anderson was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center for treatment.
