Oneida Co. Sheriff's Office seeks applications for Chief Deputy of Child Advocacy Center

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications to fill the position of Chief Deputy of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications to fill the position of Chief Deputy of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

When the Sheriff’s Office announced the retirement of Undersheriff Robert Swenszkowski, who will retire at the end of August to teach full-time at Utica College, they also announced that Joseph Lisi, who currently serves as chief deputy of the Child Advocacy Center, is being promoted to undersheriff.

According to the “notice of vacancy,” the position of Chief Deputy (Task Force Operations) involves “assisting the Sheriff, Undersheriff, District Attorney and Commissioner of Social Services with planning, administering, and supervising the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.”

The position is a grade 43M non-tested civil service position, with a salary of $70,195, with benefits. To qualify for the position, you must:

- Have a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of law enforcement experience, including five years of investigatory experience and five years of supervisory experience overseeing members of law enforcement; OR

- Have an Associate’s degree and 12 years of law enforcement experience, including five years of investigatory experience and five years of supervisory experience overseeing members of law enforcement; OR

- Have a high school diploma and 14 years of law enforcement experience, including five years of investigatory experience and five years of supervisory experience overseeing members of law enforcement.
