ONEIDA COUNTY -- The Oneida County Democratic Committee announced Thursday night that it has nominated Sarah Bormann of Vernon for Democratic Election Commissioner.
For the past two years, Bormann was District Director for former Congressman Anthony Brindisi. Prior to that she served as Director of Constituent Services in Brindisi's local Assembly office. She holds a B.S degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Drexel University.
"The issues that came to light at our Board of Elections in the NY-22 race provide a roadmap for changes in policies and procedures that need to take place," said Mitchell G. Ford, Oneida County Democratic Party Chair. "I believe Sarah Bormann will bring outstanding management and personal skills to this task."
"I am honored to have been nominated to serve as the next Democratic Election Commissioner for Oneida County," said Bormann. "I am fortunate to have been mentored by four outstanding public servants, and I'm excited to bring the knowledge and experience I've gained over the past twenty years to this important position. I am fully committed to working with and for the community to run fair elections and to rebuild trust in the electoral process."
The nomination has gone to the Oneida County Legislature for action at their March 10 meeting.
No word on when the Oneida County Republican Committee will announce their nominee.
