On Saturday, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office continued its mission of promoting gun safety with a program called Project ChildSafe.
Members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office were at Bass Pro Shops on Saturday handing out gun safety kits in an effort to promote gun safety and keeping young kids safe around them.
"Gun safety is a very important thing. Every gun owner should be a responsible gun owner and Project ChildSafe is just one more way to make the weapons in the home safe if you have children or just in case of an incident or burglary," said Officer Curtis Morgan.
The campaign is a nationwide effort to ensure those who need gun locks, have access to them.
If you're interested in getting a lock, contact the Sheriff's Office Community Affairs Unit at 315-765-2220.
