UTICA, N.Y. – Oneida County may get up to 1,000 additional vaccines to administer to the 65 and older population, through a prospective partnership with a major pharmacy chain.
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says the county would set up a new point of dispensing (POD) at the Department of Public Works in Oriskany to get the doses in arms in a day or two.
“The goal here is if we get a large number like 1,000 vaccines…if we can get them out in a day or even two, I mean that clearly helps. It's better than doing it over a longer period of time,” said Picente.
Picente said more details on the new partnership would be released over the next week.
