UTICA, N.Y. – Oneida County has officially launched its vaccine incentive program – Boost OC – offering $100 in digital gift cards to anyone vaccinated after July 15.
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says the goal is two-fold; get people vaccinated and help support local businesses.
“Protecting our residents from this virus is crucial to reclaiming our way of life. For those who have not yet been vaccinated, I urge you to take advantage of the Boost OC program. Not only for the health and safety of yourself and loved ones, but also to help in the recovery of our local businesses and non-profits who have been devastated for nearly two years,” said Picente.
The gift cards can be used at participating local businesses and organizations, but cannot be withdrawn as cash. The money can also be donated to non-profits or charities, or even to pay for registration for the Boilermaker Road Race.
The county is partnering with the Prizeout app for Boost OC so qualified residents can download the gift care on their phones.
The funding for Boost OC comes from pandemic relief funding allocated through the American Rescue Plan.

Picente says the county will reach out to residents to let them know they are eligible.
