UTICA, N.Y. – People with underlying conditions making them eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine can now pre-register with Oneida County online.
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says this does not secure an appointment, but it will give the county an idea of the size of the population with health conditions, and help with prioritization.
“The pre-registration does not sign up a person for an appointment; what it does, it allows us to identify those who have comorbidities, what the comorbidity is as we prioritize…a percentage of the vaccine over the next several weeks,” he said. “This will assist us in determining the number of comorbidity individuals we have in the community that are in need of the shot.”
The county may also use this pre-registration list to schedule appointments in the future, when the supply of doses increase or becomes more consistent.
