ONEIDA SQUARE- Oneida Square was packed on Friday afternoon, with dozens of families wanting free school supplies.

The give away was organized by community member, Geno Brown and the owner of Oneida Square Marketplace. There was pizza, free drinks and music.

The organizers say they love giving back to the community."It's one of the greatest things for me to do is give back to a place I grew up, a place I love, a place that I represent," said Brown.

Parents said it prepares their children for the start of school. "It's wonderful because some parents don't have the funds to provide for their kids so I think it's a good thing that others are helping out in the community," said Helen Davis.

Book bags, notebooks, and pencils were just some of the items given away.
